Franklin Rodeo is this weekend!

rodeo

I hope you haven’t made any plans yet for May 16th, 17th, and 18th because trust me – you won’t want to miss this. If you tell me that you never once dreamed of being a cowboy or cowgirl (or at least wore the costume one embarrassing Halloween many moons ago), then you are probably lying…or at least forgetting. Never fear – the rodeo is almost back in town!

The Franklin Rodeo is produced by the Franklin Noon Rotary Club. This club has been servicing the Franklin area since 1948 when it was chartered, and sponsoring the rodeo became its most successful fundraising project beginning with its debut in May of 1950. All proceeds from rodeo ticket sales go to good causes: everything from local high school bands to ending polio around the world. The rodeo has to date raised over $2 million.

You may find yourself wondering, much like I did, “Hmm…what exactly IS Rotary?” I’m glad you asked. Rotary was actually the world’s very first service organization. There are about 33,000 clubs worldwide containing around 1.2 million members. These clubs works for all kinds of good causes such as promoting world peace, providing job training, and fighting hunger, just to name a very few.

The Franklin Rodeo takes place every year during the third weekend in May at the Williamson County Ag/Expo Center right off of Exit 61 of I-65 southbound. You will see Rotary club members there, each one assigned a specific task to carry out during rodeo weekend. Tickets are available for sale now, with children’s tickets costing $5-10 and adult tickets costing $10-17. Get them while they’re hot by calling 877-987-6487, and there will be some available at the gate (though supplies may be limited).

There are too many fun events happening at this party to miss out, so git! If you have any more questions, check out www.franklinrodeo.com.
